TAP: Portugal’s national airline, with direct non-stop flights to Lisbon from a number of major US, Canadian and Asian destinations, as well as most of Europe’s capital cities.

LISBOA CARD:  A wonderful tourism pass that provides you quick access to a number of sites, easy transportation options, including free admission to the following: The Belem Tower, Jeronimos Monastery, Santa Justa Elevator, Palacio Nacional da Ajuda, National Pantheon, Azulejos (Tile) museum, Museu Nacional dos Coches and access to the Lisbon Metro system.

10Best Lisbon Museums:  A local writer has put together his top ten listing for Lisbon Museums.  I think these are all great choices, so I recommend them too.

10Best Lisbon Fado:  This site has a pretty extensive listing of most of the places where you can go to hear a little Fado music.  It’s not the most uplifting, but it is classically Portuguese and many love an evening of it, with Strong Sangria.

Sintra National Heritage site:  Sintra is a mountain village located 30 minutes outside of Lisbon, where the royals would holiday during the hot estival season…

Saint Jorge’s Castle in the center of Lisbon, high up in the hills over Alfama.  This is definitely worth the trip.
